Abstract:

This book was prepared by the Russian Academy of Sciences under the auspices of Academician Nikolai Platé, who co-founded the Institute for Applied Science (IAS), and served as Vice President of the Russian Academy until 2008. The book is written in Russian and English and provides an overview of the history, capabilities and structure of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The book includes a useful directory of all the institutes within the Russian Academy of Sciences.
