International Aproaches to Counter
Next-Generation Improvised Explosive Devices
This program was launched in 2008 with an advanced research workshop in Oxford.
The objective of the program is to foster international scientific and technical cooperation to meet the challenge posed by IEDs and to dentify future security shortfalls and requirements with regards to the next-generation of Improvised Explosive Devices.
The workshop brought together scientists, first responders, and law-enforcement from a wide range of countries in order to develop forward-looking requirements and the necessary tools to neutralize and defeat next-generation IED’s.
The workshop resulted in a variety of ongoing international S&T cooperation projects.
